Shaneva D. McReynolds, Ph.D.

President

Dr. Shaneva D. McReynolds (Ph.D.) is President of FAMM, where she champions a justice system rooted in individual accountability, human dignity, and community safety. Her relationship with FAMM began in 2013, when the organization’s resources—research, literature, and legislative analysis—bolstered her successful effort to overturn her husband’s 235‑month federal sentence. That experience continues to shape her advocacy.

A trusted public voice on criminal‑justice reform, Dr. McReynolds’s writing has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, and she has been featured or quoted by The Washington Post, the Associated Press, CNN, Reason, and regional outlets including Illinois Public Media News, WBEZ‑Chicago, WTTW (Chicago PBS), CBS Richmond, and WMKG Orlando.

Before joining FAMM in 2021 as Illinois Policy Consultant, she spent two decades in Department of Defense contracting, rising to Vice President of Contracts Management, and earning the Certified Federal Contract Manager credential.

Dr. McReynolds holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy & Administration (summa cum laude) from Walden University, where she was inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha, the national honor society for public affairs. She also earned an MBA in e‑Business from the University of Phoenix and a B.S. in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Shaneva is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
