If passed, H.R. 3356 would allow some federal prisoners to earn time credits that would reduce their sentences, if they lower their risk recidivism by completing recidivism-reducing programs and jobs. This bill would not reduce or eliminate any mandatory minimum sentences, or create safety valve exceptions for those sentences, increase the number of “good time credits” federal prisoners can earn for good behavior, or re-instate federal parole.
