Tell Congress to Reinstate Pell Grants for Incarcerated Students
In 1994, Congress stripped people in state and federal prisons of access to Pell Grants — removing access to postsecondary education for thousands of incarcerated students.
The Pell Grant eligibility ban is a relic of the misguided policies of the 1990s. It is time to restore Pell Grant access to incarcerated individuals who wish to pursue self-improvement through education. Sign our petition to urge Congress to restore Pell Grants to incarcerated students this Congress!
