The best letter - FAMM

The best letter

The best letter I’ve received since being incarcerated was from my daughter. She was six years old at the time and I was down in the dumps about having to be away from her. I heard my name at mail call and took my letter to my room. The prison that I’m at doesn’t allow cards or anything other than paper so my daughter had made me a card of her own. It was cut out in the shape of a heart and in the letter she told me that “I am the best and will always be the best” and it was exactly what I needed to hear. To wrap the letter up she was curious about what they were serving for dinner. Sometimes the simplest things can make all the difference in the world. — Matthew W.
