URGENT! Tell Your Senators to Support Sentencing Reform Today!

Post Date: January 7, 2014

Tomorrow is the first hearing on both our drug and gun sentencing bills in the Florida Senate. Have you emailed the members of the Senate Criminal Justice Committee?? If not, please do!

There is a widespread myth – promoted gleefully by the special interests that benefit from mandatory minimums –  that the only thing voters want from our criminal justice system is more prisons and longer sentences. Let your lawmakers know this isn’t true! They need to know we’re out there, so please email them and tell them to support SB 360 and SB 448 tomorrow!

Once again, here are the email addresses for the Senators on the committee. Cut and paste them into your email.

evers.greg.web@flsenate.gov,
smith.chris.web@flsenate.gov,
altman.thad.web@flsenate.gov,
bradley.rob.web@flsenate.gov,
dean.charles.web@flsenate.gov,
gibson.audrey.web@flsenate.gov,
simmons.david.web@flsenate.gov

In the subject line, write:

“SUPPORT SB 360 AND SB 448!”

In the body of the email, write simply:

Senators,

I’m writing to ask for your support of SB 360 and SB 448 in the Criminal Justice Committee tomorrow.

Sincerely,

(YOUR NAME)

(YOUR TOWN)

Take three minutes today and send this email. Let them know we’re out there and we want reform! Thank you!
