Some federal prisoners convicted for crack offenses became eligible to apply for a reduced sentence on Nov. 1, 2011. This prompted new rumors that are unfortunately not true. We will keep working to expand on our successes, but don’t be fooled. The only change that went into effect on November 1 that might reduce sentences for some federal prisoners is the reduction to crack cocaine guidelines.
