Thanks for speaking up!

Thanks to the more than 2,250 people who took FAMM’s recent informal survey! The results show that we’re on the right track!

 

Highlights from the survey include:

 

  • Over 67% of respondents think sentencing laws need to be changed because they do not allow judges to sentence people according to their role in a crime;
  • Nearly 30% agree that sentencing laws lead to excessive prison costs for taxpayers;
  • Over 90% of respondents know someone who is incarcerated; and
  • Nearly half of all respondents were introduced to FAMM by a friend or family member in prison.

 

*Prisoners were not included in the survey due to limited internet access.
