Thanks to the more than 2,250 people who took FAMM’s recent informal survey! The results show that we’re on the right track!
Highlights from the survey include:
- Over 67% of respondents think sentencing laws need to be changed because they do not allow judges to sentence people according to their role in a crime;
- Nearly 30% agree that sentencing laws lead to excessive prison costs for taxpayers;
- Over 90% of respondents know someone who is incarcerated; and
- Nearly half of all respondents were introduced to FAMM by a friend or family member in prison.
*Prisoners were not included in the survey due to limited internet access.
